Disability Benefits

Each member who is employed full time in a current title is covered by a group long term disability benefit. This benefit pays up to $2,000.00 per month after a 90 day waiting period and is payable for 5 years. This benefit will be offset by Social Security Income Benefit or workers Compensation Benefit Awards. The Welfare Fund provides this at no cost to the member.

This benefits covers members only. Spouse and dependents are not eligible.

Benefits are payable according to stipulations below for a covered disability incurred by the member provided said member is and remains eligible to receive them.

The member may be considered disabled when a physician certifies that he/she is unable to perform his/her regularly assigned job duties as a result of illness or injury whether or not injury occurred on or off the job.

There is one year waiting period for any pre-existing condition.
